Amani Bay Sweet White 75cl
Pour this so cold the glass fogs up and you've basically got summer in liquid form. It's soft, sweet and packed with peach and pineapple, the kind of white that goes down easy whether you're winding down on a Friday or it's the first bottle of a long night. Not bone-dry, not syrupy. Just fruity, friendly and very hard to put back in the fridge. Low on alcohol too, so you can take your time with it.
Tasting note · by The Oaks Cellar

Stick your nose in and it's all ripe peach, pineapple and a little tropical sweetness, light and inviting. The first sip is soft and round, more juicy than sharp, with that gentle sweetness coating your tongue before a clean finish tidies everything up. The grapes (Chenin Blanc and Colombard) were fermented cool in steel tanks to lock in all that fruit, then rested on the lees, the spent yeast, which is a winemaker trick that gives it a rounder, fuller feel in the mouth instead of feeling thin. Sweet but never cloying.

Where it's from

This comes out of South Africa's Cape winelands, the heartland of Chenin Blanc. South Africa grows more Chenin than anywhere on earth, so it's a grape they've truly mastered, and blending it with Colombard is a classic Cape move for an easy, fruity sweet white. Amani is a small boutique operation, the kind of place that makes wine with a bit of warmth and personality rather than churning it out by the tanker. The result is uncomplicated in the best way.
