Beefeater Gin Pink 750ml
★★★★★ 5.0 (1 review)Picture your usual gin and tonic, but it blushes pink and tastes like someone tossed fresh strawberries into the glass. That's this. The juniper and citrus you know from Beefeater are all still there, just wrapped in a soft, sweet-ish strawberry hit that makes it dangerously easy company on a slow Friday. Pour it the second the ice and tonic land. We'll get it to you long before the strawberries would've gone soft.
First thing you get is strawberry, fresh and ripe, not the sticky sweet-shop kind. Underneath it the proper gin shows up: piney juniper, a twist of lemon and orange peel, a little warm spice from coriander. It leans sweeter than a London Dry but never tips into syrup, because that dry juniper keeps pulling it back. Finishes clean with just a whisper of strawberry hanging around.
The details
Pairs well with
Where it's from
Beefeater is London gin through and through, distilled in England at 37.5%. The strawberry idea isn't a new gimmick either. It nods back to founder James Burrough, a pharmacist who spent the 1800s in Covent Garden tinkering with fruit and botanical infusions. This is the classic Beefeater London Dry recipe with natural strawberry flavour folded in. Old experiment, modern glass.
