B&G Reserve Pinot Noir 75cl
Pinot Noir is the red for people who think they don't like red wine. This one's soft, round and full of ripe cherry, with tannins so gentle they basically wave at you on the way through. Pour it for a chilled evening in, a slow pizza night, or anything coming off the grill. It's light enough to drink on its own and clever enough to make dinner taste better. We'll have it at your door fast, any hour.
Tasting note · by The Oaks Cellar

Lean in and you get a big hit of ripe red cherry and berry, with a sweeter whiff of mocha and vanilla behind it. First sip is plush and juicy, more cherry, a touch of kirsch (that's cherry brandy, basically), all wrapped in soft velvety tannins that never grip your cheeks. It finishes dry with a gentle spicy lift, so it's never sweet despite all that fruit. Easy, friendly, the kind of glass that disappears.

Where it's from

Here's the fun bit. Pinot Noir is Burgundy's diva grape, famously fussy about where it grows. B&G plant it instead on Corsica, the sun-soaked island off the south of France known as the Île de Beauté. Warm days, cool nights and a mix of sand, clay and schist soils ripen the fruit beautifully, which is why this tastes so generous and round. The grapes get a cool three-day soak before fermenting, locking in all that bright cherry. Barton & Guestier have been doing the French wine thing since 1725, so they've had a minute to figure it out.
