This is properly local. Booch is brewed right here in Kenya by Eoin Flinn, who got hooked after picking up a SCOBY in Uganda back in 2016 and brewing his first batch in his own kitchen. It is made from 100% Kenyan ingredients, from the oolong tea to the locally grown sugar, fruit and botanicals, fermented in small batches with no artificial flavours or preservatives. The SCOBY, a rubbery little colony of bacteria and yeast, eats most of the sugar as it ferments, which is why a drink that starts as sweet tea ends up tangy and dry.
