Pour this over ice, top with tonic, and you get a gin that plays it smooth instead of pine-bomb sharp. Juniper still shows up, but it walks in with citrus, a little floral lift and a warm hum of exotic spice you can't quite place. It's the gin for people who think they don't love gin. Friday night, balcony, good company. Sorted.
Tasting note · by The Oaks Cellar

First sniff is clean and bright. Juniper, then a wave of lemon. On the tongue it's rounded and mellow rather than punchy, with a gentle floral note (there's lavender and lotus leaf in there) and a soft, almost fruity spice on the way out from dragon eye and a touch of almond. Nothing fights you. It's contemporary and easygoing, which is the whole point of it.

Where it's from

Bulldog is the brainchild of Anshuman Vohra, a former banker who wanted a gin modern enough to win over people raised on vodka. He took the idea to G&J Greenall in England, one of the oldest continuous gin houses going, and together they built it from British wheat and 12 botanicals sourced across 8 countries. Three of those (Chinese dragon eye, Turkish white poppy and lotus leaf) are basically Bulldog's signature. The name nods to the British 'bulldog spirit': grit and a bit of swagger.
