Chateau Roustaing Octavius Bordeaux 75cl
You know that red that makes a Tuesday feel like an occasion? This is it. Pour a glass and you get deep, brooding dark fruit, a little cedar and spice, and tannins with real grip that don't bully you. It's proper Bordeaux confidence without the price tag or the lecture. Grilling something tonight? This is your wine.
Tasting note · by The Oaks Cellar

Deep ruby in the glass, and the nose pulls you straight in: ripe blackcurrant and plum, a whisper of cedar and warm baking spice, that classic Bordeaux pencil-shavings thing wrapped in fine oak. On the palate it's full and powerful, dark berries up front, tannins that frame everything and grip your gums just enough, then a long finish that lingers. Bone dry, no sweetness, all structure. It's a grown-up red that still knows how to have fun.

Where it's from

This comes from Château Roustaing, a family estate in Bordeaux's Entre-Deux-Mers, the rolling land between two rivers. The Octavius name isn't marketing fluff either: it's borrowed from Gallo-Roman pottery stamped by a potter called Caius Octavius Catulus, dug up right there in the vineyard. So you're drinking a wine named after something Roman hands made on that exact soil two thousand years ago. Pretty good story for a Tuesday.
