Dewar's started with John Dewar back in 1846 in Perth, Scotland, and the family later built Aberfeldy distillery in 1896 to anchor the house style. Aberfeldy's honeyed malt is still the heart of this blend, sitting alongside whiskies from dozens of distilleries across Scotland. The clever bit is the "double ageing": every whisky matures at least 12 years, then master blender Stephanie Macleod marries them together and sends the finished blend back into oak for a final stretch. That extra rest is what gives it the silk.
