This specially selected Douglas Green Cape Ruby was crafted from rich ripe grapes. After maturation in barrel this Cape Ruby displays aromas of fruitcake and nutty flavours, with a rich, smooth finish.
In The Vineyard
Vineyards are sourced from the warmer regions of the Western Cape best suited to the traditional port varieties. Grapes are picked at the height of ripeness for maximum natural sweetness and intensity of flavour.
In The Cellar
Fortification with brandy spirit takes place after primary fermentation to preserve the natural sweetness and fruit intensity in the wine before 5 years maturation in small oak barrels for smoothness and seamless integration.
