This is pure Coonawarra, a narrow strip in South Australia that's basically Cabernet's spiritual home. The magic is the soil: a band of red earth called terra rossa sitting over limestone, which gives the region's Cabs their depth and structure. Parker Coonawarra Estate has been chasing serious Cabernet here since John Parker arrived in 1985 with zero interest in cutting corners.
