This comes from Fresha, the brand of Githunguri Dairy, a co-operative that kicked off back in 1961 with just 31 small-scale farmers and now pulls milk from tens of thousands of them around Githunguri, just up the road from Nairobi. The milk is a blend of Friesian and Ayrshire cows, gathered and processed fast, then run through UHT (ultra-high-temperature) heating.
