Pour this over a couple of ice cubes, drop in a slice of orange, and you've got the easiest after-dinner win in the house. It's deep amber, properly sweet, all raisin and toffee and toasted walnut, the kind of glass you sip slowly while the night winds down. The world's best-selling cream sherry, and once you taste it you get why. No fuss, no occasion needed. Just rich, smooth and ready when you are.
Tasting note · by The Oaks Cellar

First whiff is dried fruit and caramel, a little roasted-nut warmth, the smell of something cosy. Then the sip lands soft and full, sweet but never sticky: think raisins, fig, sticky toffee, a walnut edge at the back. It's smooth and velvety the whole way down, finishing long with a faint spice. Sweet wine that drinks like a treat, not a sugar bomb.

Where it's from

Harveys started life back in 1796 as a wine merchant in Bristol, England, but the wine itself is pure Jerez, Spain. Bristol Cream came along in 1882, a blend of over thirty different sherries: dry Fino and Amontillado, nutty Oloroso, and sweet Pedro Ximénez from sun-dried grapes, all matured in American oak through the slow solera system where younger wine is topped into older. The name? Legend says a visiting aristocrat tasted it next to Harveys' lighter 'Bristol Milk' and declared, 'If that is the Milk, then this must be the Cream.' It stuck.
