Made in Girvan on the Scottish coast by William Grant & Sons, the same family firm behind some serious whisky. What makes Hendrick's odd in the best way is the kit: they blend spirit from two rare old stills, a tiny 1860 pot still and a 1948 Carter-Head that bathes the botanicals in vapour rather than boiling them, pulling out only the light, sweet, floral notes. Then the rose and cucumber essences go in after distilling. Eleven botanicals, one very recognisable apothecary-style bottle.
