This comes from Crafty Distillery (now Galloway Distillery) down in Newton Stewart, a small town in the southwest corner of Scotland. It started as two brothers, Graham and Stephen Taylor, wondering why their home patch had no distillery of its own. They make the Hills & Harbour gin grain-to-glass from local wheat, then for this one they pile in a wheelbarrow of fresh fruit per batch, hand-smoke and torch it, press it and distill it. They call it the world's first 40% distilled gin cocktail: real fruit, zero artificial nonsense, right down to the live-edge cork on every bottle.
