Clean, light, a little sweet on the way down and gone before it can bite. That's Kenya Cane, the spirit half of Nairobi grew up on. Crack the 250ml when you want a proper dawa without committing to a whole bottle, or when the cocktail run needs a base that plays nice with everything. It's the bartender's quiet workhorse, and tonight it can be yours.
Tasting note · by The Oaks Cellar

Pour it and the nose is gentle: soft sugarcane, a lick of vanilla, a flicker of citrus right at the edge. On the tongue it's smooth and barely sweet, triple-distilled so there's none of that harsh paint-thinner sting cheaper spirits throw at you. The finish is short and clean, a faint sugarcane-and-vanilla echo and then nothing. That blank-canvas quality is exactly why it mixes so well.

Where it's from

Kenya Cane is the country's oldest spirit brand, first made back in 1976 by Kenya Wine Agencies Limited (KWAL). It's distilled from Kenyan sugarcane molasses, fermented and run through three distillations to get that signature smoothness. Proudly made in Kenya, by Kenyans, and a bar staple for nearly half a century. The flavoured cousins (Coconut, Citrus, Pineapple) came later, but this is the original.
