KO Blush Gin 750ml
Pour this one and your glass actually goes pink. KO Blush is a gin that flirts. Cucumber-cool, gently floral, with proper juniper backbone holding it together so it never tips into perfume. Build a tall G&T, drop in a cucumber ribbon, and it's the easiest yes of the night. Warm Nairobi evening on the balcony? This is the bottle you want within arm's reach.
First sniff and it's roses and fresh-cut cucumber, with a lift of citrus peel right behind. The rose is real, a Kenyan-grown Tambuzi bloom, so it reads soft and genuine rather than soapy. On the tongue it's smooth and dry, juniper sitting at the centre keeping it honestly gin, then those floral and cucumber notes drift over the top. A whisper of citrus brightness closes it out. Delicate, but it's got a spine.
The details
Pairs well with
Where it's from
This is Kenyan Originals, the Nairobi crew making craft drinks from real local ingredients since 2018. Founder Alexandra Chappatte set up shop in Baba Dogo with a simple idea: celebrate modern Kenya in a bottle, properly. The botanicals back it up, juniper and citrus alongside cucumber and a scented Tambuzi rose grown up in the Mount Kenya region. It's homegrown gin that holds its own against the imports, and it's earned the nod abroad too.
