Lindeman's Bin 45 Cabernet Sauvignon 75cl
Pour this and you get exactly what a good Cab should be: dark, juicy plum and berry, a soft cedar warmth, and tannins so smooth they never grab at your cheeks. It's the bottle you open without overthinking it. Friends over, meat on the grill, a slow Friday that turns into a long one. It plays nice on its own and even nicer next to food, and it never asks you to be a wine snob to enjoy it.
Tasting note · by The Oaks Cellar

First whiff is fruitcake and dark berries, cassis and bramble, with a cedary oak note and a little hint of chocolate and mint sitting behind it. On the palate it's medium-to-full bodied, ripe plum and berry rolling over soft, gentle tannins. Dry, but the fruit is generous enough that it feels almost plush. It finishes smooth and warm, no rough edges. Easy to love, hard to put down.

Where it's from

Lindeman's goes all the way back to 1843, when an English naval doctor named Henry Lindeman swapped the stethoscope for a vineyard on the Paterson River in Australia's Hunter Valley. He called the place Cawarra, an Aboriginal word for running water. Nearly two centuries on, the Bin 45 Cab pulls fruit from across South Eastern Australia and gets matured partly in French and American oak, which is where that cedar and gentle spice come from. A lot of history in a very unfussy bottle.
