This comes from Viña Montes in Chile's Colchagua Valley, warm sunny country famous for friendly, fruit-forward reds. Montes started in 1988 and has a fun quirk: a guardian angel is their whole thing. One founding partner walked away from three car crashes and swore an angel was watching him, so the winery adopted it. There's a giant carved angel in the cellar, and they pipe Gregorian chants over the barrels as the wine rests. A bit of good karma in every bottle, basically.
