The Royal Dutch name goes back to a little brewpub called the Post Horn in Tilburg, Netherlands, where Jacobus van Roessel started brewing back in 1806. The beer got so good it ended up supplying the Dutch royal court, which is where the "Royal" comes from. These days it's made by United Dutch Breweries and shipped to more than 50 countries as one of Holland's proudest export beers. This 16% bottle is the strong end of the family.
