Saint Anna 75cl
Excellent★★★★
Pour this and you get a glass that glows gold and tastes like ripe tropical fruit dipped in honey. It's properly sweet, but there's a crisp little snap on the end that stops it feeling sticky, so you keep going back. At just 8% it's the gentle one in the room, the bottle you crack on a Friday when you want something fun, fruity and zero effort. Get it cold, get it open, and we'll have it at your door before the ice melts.
Tasting note · by The Oaks Cellar

Stick your nose in and it's a fruit basket: pineapple, litchi, ripe melon, a whiff of papaya, with a pretty floral, almost rose-petal lift from the Gewurztraminer in the blend. The sip is full-on juicy and sweet, soft and round across your tongue, then a fresh streak of acidity cuts through right at the finish so it stays bright instead of cloying. Think honeyed tropical fruit with the brakes tapped gently. Nothing harsh, nothing to figure out, just easy joy in a glass.

Where it's from

This comes from Douglas Green, one of South Africa's best-known wine names out of the Cape, with winemaker Gerhard Carstens steering the blend. It's a mix of mostly Chenin Blanc, the workhorse white grape South Africa basically owns, lifted with a splash of aromatic Gewurztraminer for that floral, spicy perfume. A natural sweet style, so the sweetness is all about ripe, fruit-forward character rather than anything heavy. Crowd-friendly by design, which is exactly why it travels so well to a Nairobi table.
