Heads up, this one isn't a drink. It's the little blue tub that lives in pretty much every bathroom cabinet for a reason. Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream is your got-you-back for nappy rash, minor cuts and grazes, and the everyday skin grumbles that pop up out of nowhere. Soft, soothing, a touch antiseptic. The kind of thing you're glad you have at 2am when the baby's unhappy or you scraped a knee.
Tasting note · by The Oaks Cellar

This is a soothing barrier cream, not a moisturiser you slather on for fun. The hero is zinc oxide, which lays down a thin protective layer over irritated skin so it's shielded while it calms down. Working alongside it: hypoallergenic lanolin to soften and soothe, and benzyl alcohol, which has mild antiseptic and local anaesthetic properties to take the edge off the discomfort. The texture is thick and creamy with that faint, clean, slightly medicinal scent you'll recognise instantly. A little goes a long way.

Where it comes from

Here's a fun one. Sudocrem was cooked up back in 1931 by a Dublin pharmacist named Thomas Smith. He called it Soothing Cream, but said fast in a thick Dublin accent that comes out sounding like "Sudocrem", and the name stuck for good in 1950. It crossed over to the UK in the 1970s and has been a family-cabinet staple ever since. The tub we deliver is the UK product, the same trusted formula parents have leaned on for over 90 years.
