Baron Philippe de Rothschild Sav Blanc 750
Pour this cold and the first sip basically high-fives you. Grapefruit, fresh lemon, that bright little zing that wakes your whole mouth up. It's bone-dry, light on its feet, and it doesn't ask anything of you. Perfect for a hot Nairobi evening when you want something crisp in hand before the food even lands. Grilled fish on the way? A few friends over? This is the bottle you grab without overthinking it.
Tasting note · by The Oaks Cellar

Lift the glass and it's all citrus. Lemon, lime, a proper hit of pink grapefruit, with a fresh green note in the background like just-cut grass. The first sip is zesty and clean, candied citrus through the middle, then a tangy, mouth-watering finish that leaves you reaching for the next one. Bone-dry, so no sugar, just bright fruit and a fresh streak of acidity holding it all together. Easy company, plenty of character.

Where it's from

This comes from Pays d'Oc in the Languedoc, the big sun-soaked stretch of southern France along the Mediterranean. The name on the label is the famous Rothschild wine family, the same house behind the legendary Bordeaux estate Mouton Rothschild. Here they take that know-how south and make something far more everyday and friendly. The grapes ferment in cool stainless steel tanks to lock in all that fresh fruit, then rest on the fine lees for a few months to round it out before bottling. Pedigree, no fuss.
