This one was born in a pub. After buying the Craigellachie Hotel in the heart of Speyside, the owner kept hearing tales from the distillery workers who'd pile in after their shifts, so he teamed up with master blender Stuart Morrison to make a whisky for exactly that crowd. The name? A 'copper dog' was a sneaky little copper tube the old distillery hands would hide down their trouser leg to pinch a measure of whisky from the cask. Cheeky heritage, made official.
