This comes from Tolna in south-central Hungary, part of the warm Dél-Pannónia stretch where Pinot Noir ripens nicely without getting heavy. The name? Pure charm. The winemaker visited his new vineyard, found a cherry tree already fruiting, and spotted a line of ants hauling a whole cherry between them. He was so taken with the little workers that he named the wine after them. Cherry, ants, the lot. It even shows up in the glass.
