You want something that tastes like sunshine but actually has some backbone? This is your bottle. Forager White hits with juicy peach and apricot, then a squeeze of lime keeps it sharp and grown-up. Crack it cold on a slow Friday, line up some grilled prawns or a samosa platter, and let it carry the night. At 14% it means business, so it's a wine to sit with, not slam.
Tasting note · by The Oaks Cellar

First sniff and you get apricot, ripe peach and a little quince, with a fun lift of lychee and a warm dusting of cardamom hiding underneath. On the tongue it's citrus and stone fruit up front, medium-bodied and rounded, with a quiet hint of oak giving it some shape. Then the lime acidity snaps in and cleans everything up. It finishes dry and lingers a good while. Generous but never sweet or flabby.

Where it's from

This comes out of the Western Cape in South Africa, made by Mike Graham, a guy with something like forty harvests behind him. The whole 'Forager' idea is in the name: instead of one vineyard, he hunts down small parcels of grapes from different sites, barrels and batches, then blends them so the sum beats the parts. The free-run juice is cold-fermented, and a chunk of the wine spends a few months resting on its lees in older French oak, which is where that subtle creamy edge sneaks in. Chenin Blanc leads, Grenache Blanc fills it out.
