Frontera Late Harvest 75cl
Picture the bit of the night after the plates are cleared, when you want something sweet but not heavy. That's this. Frontera Late Harvest is a golden, honeyed Chilean white that tastes like ripe grapes and a handful of flowers, soft and a little luscious without ever going cloying. Get it properly cold, pour a small glass, and let it be the treat at the end. Sweet tooth, this is your wine.
Tasting note · by The Oaks Cellar

Pour it and it's bright golden in the glass. The nose is all honey and dried flowers, with a candied orchard-fruit lift from the Muscat grape (think peach, apricot, a whiff of orange blossom). On the palate it's properly sweet and mellow, smooth rather than syrupy, and there's just enough freshness underneath to stop it feeling sticky. It lingers nicely, so a small glass goes a long way.

Where it's from

Frontera is the everyday range from Concha y Toro, Chile's biggest and best-known winery. The trick with this one is in the name: the Muscat grapes get left on the vine to ripen well past the usual picking date. That extra hang time concentrates the sugar, which is exactly why it ends up so honeyed and rich. It's a properly made dessert wine without the fancy-wine price tag.
