You know that first cold sip of fizz that makes a regular Tuesday feel like a small celebration? That's this. Itinera Prosecco DOC Brut is bright, dry and dangerously easy to keep pouring, with fine bubbles and a fresh hit of green apple and pear. Pop it for a sundowner, a catch-up on the balcony, or just because the day earned it. Tell us when, we'll have it cold at your door.
Stick your nose in and you get orchard fruit straight away, green apple and ripe pear, with a little citrus zip and a soft floral note hanging behind it. On the palate it's light and lively, those fine bubbles tickling more than crashing, fruity but not sweet. It finishes clean and dry, the kind of crisp that makes your mouth want the next sip immediately. Brut means properly dry, so it's refreshing rather than sugary.
The details
Pairs well with
Where it's from
This comes out of Veneto in north-east Italy, the home turf of Prosecco, where Glera grapes grow on clay and sandstone soils softened by sea air and shielded by the Alps. It's made by MGM Mondo del Vino, one of Italy's biggest family-owned wine houses, using the Charmat method, where the bubbles are created in big steel tanks rather than bottle by bottle. That tank fermentation is exactly why Prosecco tastes so fresh and fruit-forward instead of bready like Champagne.
