First whiff is gentle: freshly cut hay, green apple and pear, a little roasted malt and cocoa underneath. Then you sip and it goes full cosy. The classic mellow Jameson smoothness shows up first, sweet and soft, before the stout casks roll in with proper coffee, milk chocolate and a hit of butterscotch. There's a faint dusting of hops and spice keeping it interesting, and the finish lingers long and sweet like the last sip of a good flat white. Easy on the burn, big on flavour.

Where it comes from
This one started over drinks in County Cork. Jameson's whiskey scientist Dave Quinn and Shane Long, head brewer at the nearby Franciscan Well, got talking and swapped barrels. Jameson lent Shane their seasoned oak casks to age his stout in, and once the beer moved on, those same barrels went back to Midleton Distillery to give aged Jameson a final rest. The brewery itself sits on the grounds of an old monastery in Cork, so there's plenty of Irish history baked in. Whiskey and beer, full circle, in one glass.
