Maker's Mark 1L
You know that bourbon that bites? This isn't it. Maker's Mark swaps the usual rye for soft red winter wheat, so instead of sharp pepper you get caramel, vanilla and a warm whisper of fresh bread. It's the bottle for an easy Friday on the sofa or a slow nyama choma night where nobody's rushing. Spot the hand-dipped red wax top and you already know it's a little special. We'll get it to your door fast, any hour.
Tasting note · by The Oaks Cellar

Crack it open and the nose is all soft sweetness: caramel, vanilla, a bit of ripe orchard fruit like pear and apple. The sip is round and mellow. Think caramel and brown sugar, vanilla custard, that wheat-bread warmth, with a gentle nudge of oak underneath. The finish dries out a touch with light pepper and barrel char, just enough to keep it grown-up. No burn, no rough edges. This is the smooth one.

Where it's from

Maker's Mark is made in tiny Loretto, Kentucky, and the backstory is genuinely great. Bill Samuels Sr. was so done with harsh, rye-heavy bourbon that he burned the family's 170-year-old recipe and started fresh, baking loaves of bread in his kitchen to figure out which grain tasted best. Wheat won. His wife Margie then named the whisky, drew the label and dreamed up that red wax dip. Every bottle is still hand-dipped at the distillery today, in small batches, exactly as they wanted it.
