Maker's Mark 750ml
Pour this and the first word out of your mouth is usually "oh, that's smooth." Maker's Mark swaps the spicy rye most bourbons lean on for soft red winter wheat, so instead of a peppery kick you get warm caramel, vanilla and a soft, bready sweetness that goes down easy. It's the bottle you grab when you want something genuinely good without overthinking it. Neat after a long day, on a rock, or as the heart of a knockout Old Fashioned. And yes, you'll know it on the shelf instantly by that hand-dipped red wax dripping down the neck.
Tasting note · by The Oaks Cellar

Amber in the glass, and the nose is all comfort: sweet oak, vanilla, a little bright fruit and that signature wheat-bread softness. First sip leads with caramel and vanilla, then toffee and a gentle nuttiness roll in, with just a whisper of oak spice keeping it honest. No burn, no harsh edges, the wheat does its job and keeps everything rounded and mellow. The finish is smooth and creamy with a soft spice that fades clean. Easy to love, hard to put down.

Where it's from

Made in the tiny town of Loretto, Kentucky, where Bill Samuels Sr. famously figured out his recipe by baking loaves of bread from different grain blends. The no-rye, wheat-heavy loaf tasted best, so that's the bourbon you're drinking. It's distilled in small batches, aged "to taste, not time" (they actually rotate barrels by hand through the warehouse so every one matures evenly), then each bottle is dipped in red wax one at a time. Quietly one of the most consistent bourbons out there.
