Teacher's Highland Cream 1L
Want a Scotch that actually tastes of something without emptying your wallet? This is it. Teacher's leads with honey and malt, then a wisp of campfire smoke rolls in behind it, warm and a little cheeky. Pour it neat after a long day, or stretch it long with soda for a highball that goes the distance. And it's a full litre, so it's there for the whole crew, not just you.
Tasting note · by The Oaks Cellar

Pour it and you get rich amber in the glass. The nose is malty and sweet first, toffee and vanilla, with a gentle drift of peat smoke underneath. On the tongue it's properly full and creamy, honey and a bit of orchard fruit (think apple and pear) wrapped around that smoky note. The finish is warm and lightly spicy, the kind that sticks around just long enough to make you want another sip. Teacher's punches above its price because it carries an unusually high malt load, so there's real depth here, not the thin stuff.

Where it's from

This one goes back to William Teacher, a Glasgow lad who started selling whisky out of his wife's grocery shop in 1830. His family later built the Ardmore distillery up in Aberdeenshire in 1898 just to keep this blend supplied with its signature peated malt. That Ardmore smoke is still the fingerprint of the whisky today, blended with a notably high proportion of single malt for a Scotland-made dram that tastes richer than its price tag suggests.
