Bols is not just a brand; it is the world’s oldest distilled spirit brand. Founded in Amsterdam in 1575, the Bols family began distilling in a small shed known as ‘t Lootsje. It was Lucas Bols, born in 1652, who turned the distillery into a global powerhouse. As a major shareholder in the Dutch East India Company (VOC), Lucas had first pick of exotic herbs and spices arriving in Amsterdam, leading to the creation of over 300 unique recipes.
Today, Bols Sour Apple continues this tradition of innovation, using centuries of distilling expertise to create modern flavours that define contemporary cocktail culture.
