Chivas Regal 18 Year Old 1L
This is the one you pour when you want to slow down and actually taste your whisky. Chivas 18 is deep, velvety and built for sipping. Think dark chocolate melting into dried fruit, a warm hum of spice, and a finish that lingers long after the glass is empty. The blenders reckon there are 85 separate flavour notes packed in here, so every sip gives you something new. Pour it neat after a long Nairobi day, no rush, and let it do its thing.
Bring it to your nose and you get dried fruit and buttery toffee first, then dark chocolate and a soft floral lift. The sip is where it earns its name. It's rich and layered, rolling from sweet ripe fruit into dark chocolate and a gentle spice, with the faintest wisp of smoke curling underneath. Nothing sharp, nothing harsh. The finish is long, warm and smooth, the kind that makes you sit back. Deep amber in the glass, properly inviting.
The details
Pairs well with
Where it's from
Chivas Regal comes out of Scotland, blended by Chivas Brothers. This 18 was created by their legendary Master Blender Colin Scott and launched back in 1997. It pulls together a small army of single malts, all aged at least 18 years, with the rich Speyside character of Strathisla sitting right at the heart of it. That long ageing and careful blending is exactly why it drinks so smooth. It's their nod to old-school luxury, hence the 'Gold Signature' name on the bottle.
