Pour this and you get a pretty pink glass that smells like a punnet of strawberries with a little rose-petal whiff on top. It's soft, fruity and gently sweet, with a zingy little kick on the finish so it never feels syrupy. This is your no-overthinking bottle. Crack it cold on the balcony, pass it round at a braai, sip it while the nyama choma's still smoking. Easy company, every time.
Tasting note · by The Oaks Cellar

The nose is all bright strawberry and raspberry with a faint floral lift, like fresh roses. On the palate it's light and soft, sweet red berries up front with barely any of that drying grip you get in red wine. Then a fresh, zingy finish swoops in to clean it all up so each sip pulls you back for the next. Think juicy and easy, sweet but not cloying.

Where it's from

Hardys is one of Australia's oldest wine names, going back to Thomas Hardy who planted his first vines along the River Torrens in 1853 and ended up nicknamed the father of the South Australian wine industry. The VR stands for Varietal Range, Hardys' everyday line built to be honest, fruity and uncomplicated. This rosé is blended from Shiraz, Grenache and Cabernet grapes across South Eastern Australia, picked in the cool to keep all that fresh berry character.
