First sniff is honey, obviously, but there's more going on. You get that classic Jack thing of soft vanilla and a faint banana note, a little floral lift, a whisper of cinnamon spice. On the tongue it's thick and almost creamy, sweet honey up front, then milky coffee, a touch of dark chocolate and brown demerara sugar. The finish is where it earns its keep: gentle cinnamon heat, vanilla fudge, more honey, fading out smooth with nothing sharp or bitter to spoil it.

This comes out of Lynchburg, Tennessee, the same hollow where Jack Daniel's has been making whiskey forever. They take their Old No. 7, the one charcoal-mellowed drop by drop through sugar maple, then blend it with a honey liqueur they make in-house. Tennessee Honey landed in 2011 and quickly became the bottle people grab when straight whiskey feels like too much work. Same distillery, same know-how, just dressed in gold.
