Stick your nose in and you get grapefruit and lime straight away, with a soft floral lift behind it, like a hint of orange blossom. Where it's from
Montes is one of Chile's great success stories. Winemaker Aurelio Montes and partner Douglas Murray started it in the late 1980s with no inherited fortune, just nerve and graft, and ended up putting premium Chilean wine on the world map. They're sold in more than 100 countries now. This Sauvignon Blanc comes off the Curicó Valley in Chile's Central Valley, where cool nights lock in all that bright citrus and acidity. The grapes are handpicked to keep the fruit in good shape on the way to the cellar.
