Urban Bites Summer Salt 30g
★★★★★ 5.0 (2 reviews)You know the move. Cold drink in one hand, you tear into this little 30g pack of Urban Bites Summer Salt, and somehow it's empty before the bottle's even cold. That's the whole point. Classic-cut Kenyan potato crisps, just salt, just crunch, nothing trying too hard. The easy salty hit for a film night, a desk afternoon, or that 1am moment when you need something to go with what's already in your glass.
Pure, honest potato. You get that toasty fried-potato smell the second the pack opens, then a clean snap of salt that wakes everything up without going overboard. The classic cut gives you a proper crisp bite, not a flimsy one, and the salt sits light enough that you keep going back. No funky flavour dust, no aftertaste hanging around. Just salty, crunchy, moreish, the kind of simple that's weirdly hard to put down.
The details
Pairs well with
Where it's from
These are made in Nairobi by Norda Industries, the family-run outfit behind the Urban Bites brand. The potatoes come straight from Kenyan smallholder farmers, sliced, lightly fried in vegetable oil and salted. Good comeback story too: a fire wiped out their factory back in 2017 and shut them down for months, but they rebuilt bigger and went on to become one of the most recognisable snack names in East Africa. Proudly Kenyan, and it tastes like it.
