Glenfiddich comes from Dufftown in Speyside, the green, river-cut heart of Scotch country. The name means "valley of the deer" in Gaelic, which is why you'll spot a stag on the bottle. It's still run by the founding family after well over a century, and the 18 is their patient one: matured in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks and American oak, then married in small batches of no more than 150 casks at a time so each release stays consistent.
