Glenfiddich is made at the family-owned distillery in Dufftown, in Scotland's Speyside, and it's still run by the descendants of William Grant who built the place by hand. The 15's signature trick is the Solera Vat, a huge oak tun borrowed from the way sherry is made in Spain. They marry whisky aged in European sherry oak, American oak and virgin oak in that vat, and crucially they never let it run dry, so every bottle carries a little of what came before. Clever, and you can taste the depth it gives.
