This comes from Glenfiddich in Dufftown, deep in Scotland's Speyside, the distillery William Grant built by hand in 1887 and his family still runs today. "Perpetual" is the clever bit: VAT 01 is married in big Solera vats that are never fully emptied, just topped up batch after batch, so every bottle carries a thread of what came before. It's a travel-retail exclusive, aged in American oak, European oak and red wine casks for that smooth, layered character.
