Vinification
Port wine “Valdouro” are very popular among lovers of vintage wines. The grapes for this porto are grown on schist soils. Vinification takes place at a controlled temperature in intense maceration. Fermentation is stopped by adding brandy distilled from wine. The level of alcohol reaches about 18%. It is then placed in oak barrels for aging, lasting at least 3 years. The blend does not have a long storage potential and is ready for use immediately after the release.
