Sugar syrup recipe


1 cup water

1 cup sugar


In a small saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil; simmer until the sugar is dissolved, 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool completely.

You can refrigerate this syrup and use it at a later date.

  1. Classic Collins Sharing Cocktail (Serves 4)


  •  200 ml Bombay Sapphire
  •  100 ml Freshly pressed lemon juice
  •  8 tsp Caster sugar
  •  200 ml Soda water
  •  4 Lemon wheels


  1. Add the lemon juice and sugar to the jug.
  2. Stir to dissolve and then add the gin.
  3. Stir again and then add the ice, filling the vessel completely.
  4. Add soda water, gently stir and then garnish.
  5. Each guest should have an ice-filled highball glass and a wheel of lemon.
  6. Pour and share.

  • 60ml gin
  • Vermouth (Martini Bianco) to taste
  • Your chosen garnish

Serves 1


  •  slices cucumber, divided (reserve 1 for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp simple syrup
  • 60ml Hendrick’s gin
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • Cucumber slice, to garnish
  • Sea salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper


Muddle together two cucumber slices and syrup in a cocktail shaker tin. Add gin, lime juice, and ice, and shake well for 10 seconds. Fine-strain cocktail into a glass filled with ice cubes. Garnish with cucumber slice, a pinch of salt, and a twist of pepper.

  1. Ruby Cooler

Serves 1


  • 50ml Gordon’s® gin
  • 100ml cranberry juice
  • Top up with ginger ale
  • Cubed ice
  • Raspberries/wedge of lime to garnish


  • Fill a highball glass with lots of ice
  • Pour over your Gordon’s gin and the cranberry juice,
  • Top up with ginger ale.

    Serves 1


  • 60 ml Beefeater® gin
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 2 squirts lemon juice
  • 2 tsp honey


  • Add the crushed ice to your glass.
  • Follow this through with honey
  • Stir the mixture as you pour the gin on top, which should be relatively chilled.
  • Add the squeezed lemon juice to your liking, and place a wedge over the rim, if desired.

Serves 1


  • 50ml Gordon’s® gin
  • 3 lime wedges
  • Mint
  • 3 teaspoons of sugar
  • Crushed ice
  • Apple juice
  • Mint to garnish


  • Add your Gordon’s gin, lime wedges, and sugar with a few mint leaves to a highball glass, and muddle together.
  • Fill with a slew of crushed ice, top up with apple juice and garnish the cocktail with a sprig of fresh mint.
